Adana’nın en eski sinemalarından biri olan ve çoğu kişinin “Arı Sineması” olarak bildiği Arıplex 2021 yılı Eylül ayında kapandı. Covid-19 Pandemisi döneminde sinemaların kapatılması ve uzun bir süre boyunca açılmaması kararı ile kapanan Arıplex bu döneme ayak uyduramayarak tamamen kepenk indirdi. Adana, Arıplex’in kapanması ile tarihi son sinemasını da kaybetti.

Sinema pasajı içerisinde yer alan dükkanlardan biri olan Çerçi Yusuf’un 16 yıldır sahibi konumundaki Yusuf Çerçi sinemanın kapanmasının kendisini çok üzdüğünü dile getirdi. “16 yıldır burada çalışıyorum ve buranın sahibiyim” diyen Çerçi, “Maddi yönden çok bir kaybım olmasa da manevi yönden çok şey kaybettik” dedi. 16 yılın verdiği bir birikim ile zaten devamlı müşterilerinin çok olduğunu dile getiren Çerçi, “Fakat buradaki çoğu dükkan sahibi için aynı şeyi söyleyemem. Çoğu dükkan sahibi bu durumdan maddi yönden olumsuz etkilendi. Mesela köşede bir tane börekçi vardı onun kaybı oldu. Bunun dışında satıcılar vardı cafe vardı onların kaybı oldu. Çoğu tutunamadı kapandı ve yerine yeni şeyler açıldı. Arıplex, one of the oldest cinemas in Adana and known to many as “Arı Cinema”, closed in September 2021. Arıplex, which was closed with the decision to close cinemas during the Covid-19 Pandemic period and not to open for a long time, could not keep up with this period and completely shut down. Adana lost its last historical cinema with the closure of Arıplex.

Yusuf Çerçi, who has been the owner of Çerçi Yusuf, one of the shops in the cinema passage, for 16 years, expressed that the closure of the cinema made him very sad. “I have been working here for 16 years and I am the owner of this place,” said Çerçi, “Although I have not lost much in material terms, we have lost a lot in spiritual terms.” With the accumulation of 16 years, Çerçi stated that he already has a lot of regular customers, “But I cannot say the same thing for most shop owners here. Most shop owners were adversely affected financially by this situation. For example, there was a pastry shop on the corner and it was lost.
